SUPPORT THE YOUTH ORCHESTRA MOVEMENT OF YAMHILL COUNTY
What is Joy?
JOY is a music education program that inspires students to learn an instrument, connect with their community, and develop a lifelong love of music. Serving more than 1,250 K–12 students across Yamhill County, JOY provides in-school and after-school string instruction that builds musical skills, fosters a sense of belonging, and supports brain development—all while enriching students’ overall elementary education experience. The program culminates in a county-wide youth orchestra.
JOY IN SCHOOL – Teaching Artists provide violin instruction to kindergarten and first graders during school music classes.
JOY AFTER SCHOOL – Second through fifth graders have the opportunity to learn violin, viola, or cello and experience the joy of making music with friends.
JOY YOUTH ORCHESTRA – Offers structured weekly rehearsals and performance opportunities for students in grades 4–12.You can find out more about JOY here.
JOY SUMMER CAMP – A two week event for young orchestra musicians in grades 3-6 to learn, connect and grow.

YES has big plans to expand to JOY program to every elementary school in Yamhill County. It’s going to take time, determination, and the financial support of friends like you!
