You may have heard the great news from Governor Kotek’s office announcing the statewide expansion of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. The announcement means that the state will work toward its goal to make books from the program available to all children ages 0-5 in every Oregon county, and the state will fund one-half (50%) of the book fees moving forward.

YES is SO EXCITED that all children in Oregon will now have access to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

In Yamhill County, YES has been the local program partner since 2013. We have mailed over 600,000 books to almost 10,000 children in the last 11 years.

The Dolly Parton Imagination Library model requires a local program partner for the program to be available in the area. These 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations create meaningful partnerships with local hospitals, libraries, preschools, and various community resources to grow the Imagination Library program and its impact. Additionally, local program partners are responsible for the remaining one-half (50%) of the cost of Imagination Library books in their assigned county.

The financial support from Imagination Library of Oregon is huge for YES. It means we can double-down on efforts to enroll more Yamhill County children in Imagination Library. However, we still need your support! YES continues to require significant funds for book fees and administration of the program!
The exciting news is that each $25 donation you make moving forward will support TWO children for a year versus one. Meaning, you are doubling your impact!

LEARN MORE ABOUT YES – –

The mission of YES is to provide access to music and literacy enrichment programs for Yamhill County children.  We currently support two amazing programs – – Imagination Library and JOY – Junior Orchestra of Yamhill County. JOY Teaching Artists provide violin instruction during school music class to kindergarten and first graders. Second through fifth grades meet after school with options for violin, viola, and cello. In the 2024-2025 school year, JOY will be available in 8 Yamhill County elementary schools.

YES is proud of the programs we are bringing to our community! We raise money to fund the programs through grants, individual and corporate donations, and fundraising events.

Like all non-profits, we rely on support from our amazing community to sustain and expand these programs.
